    Targeted at academic research achievements by individuals or groups, specifically, published papers or books that fit the purpose of the award.
  2. The Japan Consortium for Area Studies Award for Budding Scholar:
    Targeted at academic research achievements by graduate students or young researchers with a decade or less of experience, specifically, published papers or books that fit the purpose of the award.
  3. The Japan Consortium for Area Studies Award for Social Collaboration:
    argeted at activities other than academic research that fit the purpose of the award.
